Their Eyes Were Watching God, Chapter Twenty.

The people in the evergaldes were really fond of Tea Cake, so him and Janie ended up staying a couple more weeks. To her? Her home is still in eatonville. This is why she returns to Eatonville. She meets back up with Pheobe and tells her everything that has happened.

Their Eyes Were Watching God, Chapter Nineteen.

Janie and Tea cake arrived safley to Palm Beach. Tea Cake is talked into helping clear stuff and bury the dead. They get a big lecture about how the whites bodies are victums and the blacks are just corpses. And then they are told that the blacks just get buried, and the whites are to be put in white pine boxes. He ends up getting a chance to leave, and he does.

Janie is really happy that her husband went to the lengths that he did to save her life. She keeps telling him to see a doctor about the dog bite, but he doesnt listen. They decide t ogo back to the much, because Tea Cake is sick of Palm Beach. Tea Cake is happy to hear that onle one of his friends died in the storm.
The dog bite on Tea Cake's cheeck starts to show infection, and it turns out that he has rabies. He is given the serum, but its too late.Quantcast His and Janie's relationship starts to sturggle and he threatens her with a gun, and she defends herself with a rifle. Their gums fire at the same time, and Tea Cake fell to the ground. This time Janie is sad about a death.

Their Eyes Were Watching God, Chapter Eightteen.

It is late summer in the evergaldes, and this means hurricane season. There are signs of a storm, but Janie and Tea Cake don't take them seriously. Some groups of people leave, and go towards Palm Beach Road.

Sudden bursts of lighting and thunder hit. Their town is pretty much destoryed. Most of the people gather together because they are scared. They try to get to a higher place, but they are pretty much getting blown away. Janie stays afloat by hanging onto the tail of a cow. The two are struggling to survive, and Tea Cake ends up getting bit on the cheek by a rapid dog.

Their Eyes Were Watching God, Chapter Seventeen.

Mrs. Turner's brother comes to town, and he starting chasing after Janie. Then Tea Cake comes up with a plan that involves his slapping Janie.
A fight starts at Mrs. Turner's resturant, with seven drunk guys. Tea Cake tries to break up the fight, but he ends up joining in. Mrs. Turner gets all angry because her husband couldn't break it up either.Quantcast

Their Eyes Were Watching God, Chapter Sixteen.

The planting and harvesting seasons are normal, and then the people leave. Tea Cake and Janie stay after the season, and Janie ends up becoming close with Mrs. Turner, an overbearing woman who runs a resturant.
The two ladys talk alot, and Turner says stuff that make Janie and Tea Cake mad. They want to boycott the resturant, but they end up eating there again.
 

 

Their Eyes Were Watching God, Chapter Fifteen.

Some overweight girl named Nunkie attempts to flirt with Tea Cake, and Janie gets jealous right away. Tea Cake tries to resist her, but Janie ends up freaking out at her, and she leaves. Tea Cake tries to talk to Janie about it, and she ends up hitting him. Then he sits and tells her how much he loves her.

Their Eyes Were Watching God, Chapter Fourteen.

The everglades and Lake Okeechobee are Tea Cake's property. He pretty much knows everything about the place. They work there for a couple days and move to a different location. And they buy a two-room house, which Janie turns into a home while Tea Cake works.

The works that work with Tea Cake are poor, and its starting to bother Janie. Janie only cleans and makes food to please Tea Cake, but she is sick of it. She ends up going to work with Tea Cake, and everyone accepts her. Janie starts to think about all the people back in Eatonville, and feels bad for them.
